Peggy’s Cove – Nova Scotia, Canada
A trip to Nova Scotia would not be complete without driving to Peggy’s Cove. We have made this drive every time we have visited this province, and each time it feels just as special.
The road itself begins to set the tone. As we leave the city behind, the landscape opens up and the air shifts. By the time we arrive, we are greeted with smooth granite rocks stretching out towards the Atlantic, with waves moving steadily against the shoreline.
At the edge stands the lighthouse at Peggy’s Point. First lit in 1915, it has guided ships along this rugged coastline for over a century and has become one of the most recognized images in Canada. It feels perfectly placed.
The rocks are worn smooth by time and water, shaped by glaciers thousands of years ago. The ocean, in contrast, is always in motion. Tucked into the village is a small post office, a reminder that Peggy’s cove is not just a place people visit, but a community that has lived and worked along this coastline for generations.
Peggy’s Cove is not a place filled with noise, but one that draws you in through its simplicity. This is a place we like to return to no matter how many times we have made the journey.
