Hudson, MA
Hudson was incorporated in 1866, beginning as the industrial village of Feltonville along the Assabet River before separating from surrounding towns to form its own identity. In the 19th century, Hudson grew into a center of manufacturing, particularly known for its shoe industry, which helped supply a rapidly expanding nation. The mills and factories that once lined the river shaped both the economy and the daily life of the town. Today, Hudson reflects these layers of history, river, industry, and community, where its revitalized downtown and preserved landmarks tell the story of a working New England town that has adapted while still holding onto its roots.

Sargeant Jacob DeShazer’s Uniform
All the exhibits at the Heritage Museum are thoughtful and well-planned. One of the exhibits that caught my attention was the uniform of Staff Sergeant Jacob DeShazer, displayed with the medals he earned during World War II. What makes monuments like this especially meaningful is they are deeply connected to the local community itself, representing neighbors, families, veterans and citizens whose lives were tied directly to the town. The memorial was originally dedicated […]

What […]
Mercedes-Benz Touring Car
You can move through the Heritage Museum chronologically, following the story of America through its major conflicts. As we left the trenches of WWI, we stepped directly into the rise of Nazi Germany and one of the museum’s striking exhibits: Adolf Hitler’s Mercedes- Benz staff car. I stepped back for a moment when I saw it. I had […]
American Heritage Museum
Out exploring on a rainy Sunday, let us to the American Heritage Museum in Hudson. From the outside, it doesn’t reveal the depth of what’s inside. Stepping through the doors, the scale and intention of the museum became very clear. This is not a collection of artifacts behind glass, but an immersive walk throughhistory. The museum was developed […]
