The Lizzie Borden House

The Lizzie Borden House is one of the most infamous true-crime sites in American history. Located in the heart of Fall River, this modest Victorian home became the scene of the brutal 1892 murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, a crime that remains officially unsolved more than a century later.

On August 4, 1892, Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby were found murdered inside this house with a hatchet-like weapon. Their daughter, Lizzie Borden, was accused, arrested, and eventually acquitted after one of the most sensational trials of the 19t century. Despite the acquittal, public suspicion never disappeared, and the case became part of American folklore.

Today, the home operates as both a museum and bed-and-breakfast, carefully restored to resemble its appearance during the 1890s. The house has also become famous for paranormal investigations and ghost tours

This quiet building has become one of America’s enduring symbols of mystery, crime and public fascination with the unknown.
