Independence National Historical Park
In the heart of Philadelphia lies the Independence National Historical Park, a place where the foundations of the United States were not just imagined but put into action.

This is not a single site, but a collection of buildings and spaces that together tell the story of a nation’s beginning. At its center stands Independence Hall, where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated and signed.
Walking into Independence Hall, is the space where ideas carried more weight than the setting itself. Here, individuals came together to define principles that would shape the future of the country.
Just steps away is the Liberty Bell, a symbol that has come to represent freedom for beyond its original purpose. Its crack, rather than diminishing its meaning, has become part of its identity.
The park was established in 1948 and is maintained by the National Park Service, preserving the buildings as well as the context in which these events took place.
Standing within the park, we are standing in the place where it unfolded. Here history happens within a single room.

Delaware is known as “The First State” because it was the first […]
Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site
There are many places to visit in Philadelphia, but one stop that I wanted to include was the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site. Unlike the grand homes of some famous Americans, Poe’s Philadelphia residence is modest. Yeast within these humble walls, Edgar Allan Poe produced some of the most important and enduring works of American literature. […]
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park
A great opportunity to re-visit Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in 2026. Walking through the historic town once again and visiting John Brown’s fort and museum brought history back to life in a powerful way. Few places in America hold so many lawyers of history within such a small landscape. The town is forever tied to the events […]
