Sherlock Holmes Museum
Our first European trip with our family was to England, and it opened the door to a lifetime of travel memories together. Like many first-time visitors, we explored many of the famous landmarks and historic sites. But one of the places we added was visiting the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

Located at the famous address of 221B Baker Street, the museum recreated the fictional home of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson from the stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Even though Sherlock Holmes was fictional, the character became so beloved that Baker Street became forever connected to him in popular culture.
Walking through the museum felt like stepping into the Victorian world of Holmes and Watson. The rooms are filled with period furniture, books, pipes, maps and details pulled directly from the stories. The sitting room with the fireplace, bookshelves and detective equipment creates the feeling that Holmes himself had only stepped away briefly.
Emily and Erin are settled into the atmosphere of the house, sitting and reading as though they belonged there. The Sherlock Holmes stories became some of the most influential detective stories ever written and helped shape modern mystery fiction.
Places like the Sherlock Holmes Museum added humor, curiosity and imagination alongside the more traditional historic landmarks we visited.
