Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge
On our first visit to Australia, part of our focus was on these iconic landmarks: The Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Opera Hose is one of those structures that is instantly recognizable. With our behind the scenes tour we got to see it up close and person. Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, it opened in 1973 after years of complex engineering and construction challenges. What appears from the outside as a series of simple “sails” is a highly sophisticated design, with each section carefully engineered to create both visual impact and acoustic performance. This is not just a landmark, but a working performance space,
The Harbour Bridge, completed in 1932, spans the harbor, connecting the city and carrying traffic, trains and pedestrians across the water. This is an example of a large-scale engineering that balanced the landscape.
These two landmarks create a complete picture. Their placement along the water marks this view one of the most recognizable in the world.

Niagara-on-the-Lake
What a wonderful road trip that led us to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
