Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
One of my favorite activities is afternoon tea. Wherever it is done well. I signed up.
After teaching in Calgary, we made our way to the Canadian Rockies and spent time at Lake Louise. This photo captures one of those special moments, afternoon tea overlooking the lake. There are places that feel almost unreal, and this is one of them. The color of the lake and the quiet presence of the surrounding mountains come together in a way that feels peaceful.

Lake Louise has a story that added to the experience Named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, it sits high in the Rockies and is fed by meltwater from the Victoria Glacier. The fine rock particles carried down from the glacier give the lake its distinctive turquoise color, a color that seems almost too vivid to be natural. The landscape was shaped thousands of years ago by glaciers, carving out the valley and learning behind the ceramic setting that surrounds the lake today.
The tradition of afternoon tea brings its own sense of pause. Sitting there, with the lake stretched out below and the glacier in the distance, the experience was something I carry with me even now.

The Bridge Between Two Continents – Iceland

The ravine marks a section of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates slowly pull apart. Iceland is the only country […]
Ubatuba – Brazil
After the completion of our teaching program in Brazil, we headed to Ubatuba to relax. Tucked along the northern coast of Sao Paulo state, this laid-back coastal town is lush with greenery and the rhythm of waves rolling onto the shore. Ubatuba is famous for its beaches, each with its own personality. There are quiet coves […]
